Hunting the Rut.

The archery elk season starts August 27th and extends to September 25th. These are 7 day hunts on private property. Tags can be purchased over the counter when you arrive and are either sex tags.

Bugling and stalking works good in the mornings since you will be hunting the rut. Afternoons are usually setting up on waterholes and wallows.

World Class Guided Elk Hunts
with Glen Papez.


My guided rifle elk hunts are 5 day hunts on private land with one or two hunters per guide.  My guides are experienced, professional  hunters who know the area, movements of the game and how to spot a trophy. We start hunting at daylight and use 4-wheel drive to get in to the hunt areas.  Hunts are done by spotting, stalking and some stands.  We are also experienced with the unique diesel-stalk method.
 


"Diesel Stalking"

The 1st hunt is an either sex hunt.  We hunt private land so you shouldn’t have any trouble drawing a tag. Second and third seasons are over the counter.  You can buy your tag when you get here.

The 4th season hunt is an elk only drawing.  The weather has changed by mid-November and this hunt has been one of my best success rates for bigger bulls.

This is the Swallow Fork Lodge which can sleep up to 15 guests. This is reserved by hunting group.

 
This is the Big Beaver Lodge which can sleep up to 6 guests.
This is reserved by hunting group.

Like to fish? Make sure to bring your fishing pole because we have two private ponds and a stream with many rainbows that are fat ready to be caught.
(You must bring a Colorado fishing license)
