What to know?

I always get asked what the best gun is to use on elk?

Don’t worry about the caliber – most of them will kill an elk.  The main thing is to be able to shoot the one you have.  Have confidence in the gun; bring the gun you know.

For those of you who fly -  it is cheaper to carry your meat as carry-on luggage and ship your gear home. We will process your meat on the ranch for an additional charge.

Note: If you were born after Jan 1st 1949, then you will need to have completed a hunters education course & bring your certificate with you to base camp.

Suggested Hunting Gear List

• Hunting license

• Hunters safety card if needed

• Flashlight with batteries and extra batteries

• Hunting knife

• Gun and ammo

• Lighter or matches and fire starter

• Warm socks

• Pants

• Hat

• Waterproof boots

• Heavy coat and gloves

• Gortex rain suit or a slicker

• Sleeping bag (-20 or below)

• Sunglasses

• Hunter's orange - 500 square inches. Hat & vest
  or jacket & hat. Archery hunters are not required
  to wear orange.

• Personal items

• Food and drink items

• Camera

• Nice pair of binoculars

• Two-Way Radio
